Accessing User Managementโ€‹

Dashboard โ†’ Users & Roles โ†’ Users

Enrolling Existing Usersโ€‹

To assign a role to someone who already has an OJS account:

  1. Go to Users & Roles โ†’ Users
  2. Click Enroll Existing User
  3. Search by name or email
  4. Select the user and assign a role

Creating New Usersโ€‹

  1. Click Create New User
  2. Fill in name, email, username, and password
  3. Select one or more roles
  4. Click Save โ€” the user receives a welcome email

Custom Rolesโ€‹

Create custom roles under Users & Roles โ†’ Roles โ†’ Create Role:

  1. Set a role name and abbreviation
  2. Choose the permission level (Manager, Editor, Reviewer, Author, Reader)
  3. Set stage access permissions
  4. Save

Merging Usersโ€‹

To merge duplicate accounts (Site Administrator only):

Administration โ†’ Merge Users

Select the old account (source) and the account to keep (destination). All data from the source is transferred.

Disabling Usersโ€‹

To prevent a user from logging in without deleting their data:

  1. Find the user under Users & Roles โ†’ Users
  2. Click the user's name โ†’ Edit
  3. Check Disable User
