Scheduling & Publishing
Once an article has completed production and galleys are ready, it can be scheduled to an issue and published.
Creating an Issueโ
- Go to Issues โ Future Issues
- Click Create Issue
- Enter: Volume, Number, Year, Title (optional)
- Click Save
Scheduling an Article to an Issueโ
- Open the article in the Production stage
- Click Schedule for Publication
- In the publication form:
- Select the Issue
- Set the Section
- Enter a Page range (e.g.,
1โ12) if applicable - Set the DOI suffix if using DOIs
- Click Save
The article is now listed in the issue but not yet published.
Publishing an Issueโ
- Go to Issues โ Future Issues
- Click on the issue to preview it
- Click Publish Issue
- Confirm โ the issue becomes live immediately
Publishing Individual Articles (Online First)โ
To publish an article without waiting for an issue:
- Schedule the article to an issue (required even for online-first)
- On the submission's Publication tab, click Publish
- The article is live; it will be formally assigned when the issue is published
Unpublishingโ
To remove a published article:
- Open the submission โ Publication tab
- Click Unpublish
The article returns to a scheduled state. The issue remains published.
Post-publicationโ
After publishing:
- DOIs are registered with CrossRef (if configured for automatic deposit)
- OAI-PMH metadata is updated immediately
- Notification emails are sent to subscribers (if announcements are configured)
