Responding to Revision Requests
When an editor requests revisions, you receive an email notification. Your submission moves to a revisions requested state.
Accessing the Revision Requestโ
- Log in โ Dashboard โ My Queue
- Click the submission
- The Review tab shows the decision and any shared reviewer comments
Reading Reviewer Commentsโ
In the Review stage:
- Scroll to the review round that has been completed
- Click View next to each reviewer to see their comments
- Download any annotated files the reviewer has attached

In double-blind review, reviewer names are not revealed unless the journal uses open review.
Preparing Your Responseโ
Good revision practice:
- Create a Response to Reviewers document addressing each comment point by point
- Revise your manuscript to address the requested changes
- Use tracked changes or a clean version โ follow the journal's preference
Uploading Revised Filesโ
- Click the Upload File button in the Revisions panel
- Select the file type:
- Revised Article for your updated manuscript
- Response to Reviewers for your point-by-point response
- Upload and confirm each file
- Click Add Discussion (or reply in the existing discussion thread) to notify the editor
Notifying the Editorโ
After uploading:
- Go to the Discussions panel in the Review stage
- Click Add Discussion (or reply to the existing thread)
- Write a brief note: "Revised manuscript and response to reviewers have been uploaded."
- Add the editor as a participant
- Click OK
The editor receives a notification to review your revisions.
Multiple Revision Roundsโ
If a second revision is requested, repeat the same process. Each revision round is tracked separately in OJS and all files are preserved.
