Starting a New Submission

Before You Submitโ€‹

  • Read the journal's Author Guidelines and Submission Checklist
  • Prepare your manuscript according to the journal's formatting requirements
  • Gather co-author details: name, email, affiliation, ORCID iD

Starting the Submissionโ€‹

  1. Log in to OJS
  2. Click New Submission on your dashboard
  3. If the journal hosts multiple journals, select the correct journal

Step 1: Startโ€‹

  • Select the Section (e.g., Articles, Reviews, Reports)
  • Confirm you have read and agree to the Submission Requirements checklist
  • Add any Comments to the Editor (optional โ€” e.g., suggested reviewers, related submissions)
  • Click Save and Continue

Step 2: Upload Filesโ€‹

  1. Click Add File
  2. Select the file type:
    • Article Text โ€” your main manuscript file
    • Research Instrument, Research Materials, Research Results โ€” supplementary
    • Transcripts, Data Analysis, Data Set โ€” research data
    • Source Texts, Other โ€” as appropriate
  3. Drag and drop or browse for your file
  4. Click Continue and confirm the file details
  5. Add additional files if needed
  6. Click Save and Continue

Step 3: Enter Metadataโ€‹

FieldNotes
TitleInclude subtitle if applicable
AbstractFormatted according to journal guidelines
List of ContributorsAdd all co-authors (see below)
Keywords4โ€“8 keywords; separate by entering each and pressing Enter
FundingFunding sources and grant numbers
ReferencesFull reference list (if required separately)

Adding Co-authorsโ€‹

  1. Click Add Contributor
  2. Enter name, email, country, and affiliation
  3. Assign role: Author, Translator, or Other
  4. Check Principal contact for editorial correspondence for one author
  5. Optionally enter ORCID iD (or use ORCID connect button)

Step 4: Confirmationโ€‹

Review a summary of your submission. Click Finish Submission to submit.

Step 5: Next Stepsโ€‹

Your submission is confirmed. The dashboard shows:

  • Submission ID (for correspondence)
  • Current status: Queued (awaiting editor assignment)

You will receive a confirmation email. Editors will contact you with a decision.
