Getting Started with OJS
This article walks you through the essential steps to get your Open Journal Systems (OJS) journal up and running.
1. Install OJSโ
Download the latest version from the PKP website and follow the installation guide.
2. Configure Basic Settingsโ
After installation, navigate to Administration โ Site Settings to:
- Set your site title and description
- Configure the default language
- Set up the contact email
3. Create Your First Journalโ
Go to Administration โ Hosted Journals โ Create Journal and fill in:
- Journal name and initials
- Description
- Contact information
4. Set Up the Editorial Workflowโ
Navigate to Settings โ Workflow to configure:
- Submission requirements
- Review process (blind, double-blind, or open)
- Editorial stages and deadlines
5. Invite Editors and Reviewersโ
Use Users & Roles โ Users to:
- Add editorial team members
- Assign roles (Editor, Section Editor, Reviewer)
- Set permissions
